THE WORD OF YAHWEH-
God’s
Word has been unscrolled in both the Scriptures and in His incarnate Son – Yeshua
Ha Mashiach/Jesus The Messiah/Christ. Yeshua/Jesus,
in describing the importance of the eternal Scriptures said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by
every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4) He also commended the steadfast inquiry into
the Word of God. “Search the
Scriptures…they…testify of Me.” (John
5:39). There is no such thing as health
or growth in Christian living apart from a clear priority on the place of
the Bible in the life of the individual
or the group. The Scriptures are the
conclusive standard for our faith, morals, and practical living and are the
nourishment for our rising to strength in faith, holiness in living, and effectiveness
in service. The Holy Spirit who comes
to fill us is the same Person who has
given us the Book to guide and sustain us.

iiYe-shu-a (Jesus) Variant of “Y”hoshua (Joshua) In the Tanakh nine persons and a city have the name of Yeshua, usually transliteranted as “Jeshua” or :”Jeshuah”. In the Septuagint and the New Testament the name was brought over into Greek as Iesous and thence into English as “Jesus”. It means “Y-H-V-H saves” (Mt 1:21) and is also the masculine form of yeshu’ah (salvation). (1) The Messiah of Israel, Yeshua from Natzeret. In modern Hebrew Yeshua’s name is pronounced and written “Yeshu” which may have been the ancient pronounciation in the Galil. However, reflecting two thousand years of conflict between the Church and the Synagogue, it is also an acronym for Yimach sh’mov’zikhrono (“May his name and memory be blotted out) However, the late Yosef Vaktor, a Messianic Jewish Holocaust survivor, took it as an acronym for Yigdal sh’moumalkhuto (May His name and Kingdom grow).
